Each year, we love working with our kids to put together a family Summer Fun Club. Basically, it’s a kids summer bucket list with a list of goals in different categories. It keeps us having fun, trying new things, documenting memories, and even learning a bit along the way. I love getting to be the fun mom to come up with great suggestions to fill in!

Here’s a little more about how we set up the Summer Fun Club for our kids summer goals, as well as all the goals we had last year. It’s basically a summer bucket list but divided into areas to help each of us grow and make the most out of our summer.

What Kids Summer Goals Do We Have?

This year is a bit different from other years for a variety of reasons – we’re still not visiting indoor museums and such, and we will also be traveling for a good portion of the summer. So this means all the activities either need to be things my kids can complete in the next week or so, or things that can be done while we’re gone.

The categories we’ve included are: Athletic, Life Skills, Academic, Arts, Moral & Religious, Reading, and FUN. It’s been a great variety of activities and caters to a number of interests!

Our Summer Goals for Kids And Kids Summer Bucket List This Year

I love how their lists came together, and wanted to share them with you, too! I’d love to hear if you’ve done something similar. And if you’d like your own blank copy of the summer bucket list for kids that you can edit with your preferences, feel free to pop in your email below and it will come right to your inbox.

What Is The Prize?

Basically all of these goals are things that are enjoyable and that my kids are excited to do. My purpose in helping create this isn’t to make them do a bunch of work over the summer; far from it. However, I do want to equip them with a few skills that we don’t often have time for during the school year along with including a lot of wonderful and fun summer activities.

For completing their whole lists, our kids get to choose two special dates – one with mom and one with dad. It can be dinner at a fancy restaurant, a day at a waterpark, mini golf, going to a movie theater, etc. It’s SO fun to spend that time with them doing something unique and special for their efforts, especially in a family where they have lots of siblings. It’s wonderful for them to get to choose and plan a couple of wonderful activities exclusively for them.
