This summer is so strange, and also has had a few unexpected gifts. We’ve loved our experience RVing across the country to safely see family, and are looking forward to some outdoor, distanced adventures on the way back home.
In the midst of all that, there are a few things I’ve been loving lately!

FIVE FAVORITE PRODUCTS JULY 2020
I honestly don’t know how I haven’t shared this bag before because I’m full-on obsessed with it. I tend to be pretty minimal in my shopping habits but this has been amazing.
This bag is GIANT (make sure you click on the XXL size) so can easily hold even beach towels for our whole family. It has plenty of outer pockets, and an inner zipper pocket. Plus, the entire top zips closed so everything doesn’t fall out! I also love that it’s mesh so it doesn’t collect dust and sand. It’s the perfect summer pool/beach bag, and is under $20!
I’m not usually much of a nightgown wearer. In California, the evenings pretty much always cool down enough that pajama pants are just fine. But I forgot about East coast July heat and humidity that can still feel oppressive at midnight, and I just couldn’t stand wearing my thick cotton PJs. So I ordered a simple nightgown that seemed like it would be cooler.
And you guys, I may never go back.
It is SO super soft and comfortable and is thin, breathable, and silky smooth. It also has functional buttons all the way down so it’s perfect for nursing. It’s great as a lounge dress, too. Did I mention it’s under $25?
I’m pretty low-key with my skincare routine. Mostly I just wash my face (this basic facewash is what I’ve used for over a decade and it the only thing that consistently keeps me from breaking out, even more than fancy face washes!) and use a basic moisturizer. But I decided a few months ago that even though I have brown skin, I should probably be a responsible adult and start wearing facial sunscreen.
I was looking for a more hydrating moisturizer, and came across this amazing sheer mineral facial sunscreen. Zinc sunscreen can be tough because it often doesn’t rub in well, but it’s so much better for your skin than chemical sunscreen. So I figured I’d give this one a shot. And I LOVE IT!
It’s the only mineral sunscreen that I’ve found totally blends in easily (even on darker skin!), and isn’t greasy at all. It’s light enough that I have no problem wearing it under my makeup, but it does a great job of protecting my skin. I’m also obsessed with the moisturizer and especially the face oil from the same brand. It smells so nice and comes in a pretty bottle.
Have you heard me go on and on about these activity books on my Instagram yet? Because they’ve seriously saved me this summer and during our big road trip. My kids pull them out every afternoon during quiet time.
There are books at different levels of complexity; the original, unicorn, zoo, and under the sea ones are a little easier, the travel one is slightly more complex, and the art masterpieces one is more involved and my very favorite, but still great for elementary schoolers. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them.
I love that they’re a simple and mess-free activity that doesn’t require any other materials. And they’re great for working on numbers with young kiddos. They’re perfect for travel days, quiet time at home, while you’re waiting at a restaurant or in the car, for birthday gifts, or for church!
I’ve had these ponytail holders for a couple years now and they’re truly the best. I have ultra thick hair and these manage to keep even MY hair in place. They never break and hold everything in place so well. They also never give me creases in my hair. I’ve used the same ones for eons and they’re still going strong.
