A couple years ago, we clocked in somewhere between 11,000-12,000 miles on road trips. And now, we’ve driven back and forth across the entire US, meandering in between in our RV. Needless to say, we’ve spent a lot of time … Read More

When we started off on our road adventure, one of my biggest questions was how it would be sleeping in an RV with kids. Would anyone sleep at all?? Turns out, it’s worked far better than I feared. Perhaps my … Read More
One of the biggest reasons we chose public school for our kids is because of the STEM opportunities. Our neighborhood school is fantastic about providing STEM-based curriculum throughout the day as well as in the dedicated STEAM lab. So I … Read More
After driving all the way out to the east coast from California in an RV to see our high-risk parents during the pandemic, we figured we’d spend some extra time with family. My sister and her family have been co-quarantining … Read More

Our public school officially starts today. I can hardly believe it! The summer flew by. And I also can’t believe I’m looking into options for homeschooling for beginners. Why We Decided to Homeschool When our school district announced last month … Read More
After being thrown into distance learning in the spring, we, like many of you, found that we needed to either purchase or replenish some homeschool supplies. Our schooling starts next week, and I’ve been thinking about which items were most … Read More
I can’t count how many of you fell in love with Juana and Lucas after reading it for the Global Children’s Book Club. While the other two global chapter books for the 2020 summer book club are also delightful, they’re … Read More

It’s crazy to think we’re already moving out of summer and into fall and back into the swing of school! It’s wild times, but I do always love the change of seasons – even though leaving one season behind always feels bittersweet.
With moving into the fall, I thought it would be fun to share some favorite things going into this season. I’d love to hear anything you’re loving, too!

There are not many things I miss having while we are RVing around the US, but this pencil sharpener is most definitely one of them. (And if you didn’t already know that I’m a mega nerd, well, now you do.)
I bought this pencil sharpener about 3 years ago and we’ve used it practically every day since. There’s definitely a reason it has over 10,000 5 star reviews. It sharpens beautifully, lasts and lasts, and is so much faster than a little handheld sharpener. Who knew I could love an office supply so much?
With starting with distance learning and homeschool, I’ll be spending a lot of time leaning over books and laptops and helping kiddos. My hair is naturally wildly thick, and it’s definitely in full swing of “quaranhair” since I haven’t had it cut in months. These ponytail holders are the only ones that keep it secure!! They come in all kinds of fun colors, too.
I looove this leather-looking Apple watch strap. It looks so much nicer than the standard one that comes with the watch, and it stays on better, too. It’s perfect for keeping track of time during school hours (or for pickup) while still looking nice. It’s under $20 and I can’t recommend it more.
Being in the RV is a pretty small space, and it’s important to keep things as organized as possible. So I ordered these amazing Turkish bath towels. They’re so thin and lightweight, yet absorb SO WELL. Plus, they’re beautiful colors so everyone remembers their own towel.
They’re fantastic for travel or for the beach since they fold up so small and dry quickly, but I’m also excited to use them at home because they’re colorful and so soft. These ones are less expensive than some other brands but still had fantastic reviews, and I couldn’t be happier with them. They get softer with each wash!
An external charger is generally something I think of for travel, but since I got this lightweight one, I use it all the time around the house. It’s so useful to not have to go plug in my phone but to just have it with me while teaching or if I need to respond to an email quickly. It’s great so I can always pull up answers or help my kids with what they need.
I’ve tried a lot of external chargers, and this one is the best by FAR. It holds charges so well, charges quickly, and is very lightweight. It’s fantastic for travel, too.
What are you loving right now as we transition to fall?
