Our Top Blog Posts of 2020

10. 4 Family Dinners Kids Can Make

I love having my 10 & 8 year olds make dinner once a week, and they rotate through 4 recipes each. These recipes are super simple but still filling, healthy, and delicious for the whole family. It’s the perfect addition to our family economy chore program!

9. Travel Essentials for Kids

Always a popular post, this post has some of our must haves when traveling with kids.

8. 65+ Things to Do Outside with Kids At Home

Oh, if this isn’t the most 2020 blog post – entertaining kids and getting fresh air!

7. Best Educational Kid Activity Books

I really love a good activity book, and it’s even better if it provides some learning in addition to fun. These are some of our very favorites for multiple ages!

6. Favorite Kids Hiking Gear

Our family did a LOT of hiking last year, and so did a lot of you. I hope this list of some of our favorite gear was helpful in getting out on more trails with your loved ones!

5. Small Businesses for Children’s Products

I loved putting together some of our favorite small businesses to support that sell children’s products, and you guys loved reading it!

4. Our Family’s Homeschool Curriculum

Homeschooling was definitely new territory for us last year and it seems many of you were in the same boat. I’ve loved using our curriculums for “official” school, but I also love the general learning they facilitate!

3. 100+ Consumable Gifts for Kids

You all seem to appreciate consumable gifts as much as I do! I so appreciate presents that inspire creativity, connection, and learning. This is one of those lists that I already have and will continue to reference as I purchase gifts for my own children and their friends. I love that it’s been helpful for you, too!

2. The Real History of Thanksgiving: Thanksgiving Resource Guide for Families

This guide was so helpful in our family in learning and unlearning critical facts and stories about this holiday. I’m so happy to know the book suggestions, videos, and discussion questions helped you center indigenous peoples this year.

1. Global Children’s Book Club

Since there were several posts explaining the Global Alphabet book club and providing the book list, I’ll group those into one. The diverse picture book list was the very most popular (and it provides links to each of the country virtual travel guides). The explanation post was next most popular, followed by the Alphabet Printable Passport. The diverse chapter books list was also a winner!

Here are some of the most popular countries:

  • Australia (fairy bread was very popular!)
  • Brazil
  • India
  • Mexico
  • and ITALY (not technically part of the GCBC but still a wonderful virtual tour – we loved building a model Roman aqueduct!)

Do you have a favorite post from last year? I’d love to hear in the comments! Thank you SO much for reading here!
